Wayfinding through the tallest building in the southern hemisphere

Home to a diverse residential community, Australia 108 embodies the culture of the city and the arts precinct it resides in. 1,105 luxury apartments are placed over 100 floors with unrivalled internal amenities across more than 4,000 sqm of communal internal space.

Redefining how supertall residential buildings are perceived, Australia 108’s place in the city skyline is as important as the street-level experience. The elegant silhouette shares a strong visual relationship with its neighbour—Eureka Tower—its inviting ground-level experience connecting masterfully to Southbank. Clear collaborated with FK and Carr to design the wayfinding system. Bringing a sense of place, refinement and detail to the public spaces.

Our customised typeface maps the path of the journey for residents, leading to the building’s centrepiece: the ‘starburst’ located at levels 71 and 72, which is home to the health and wellbeing, and private social spaces—including a double-height sky garden and two infinity-edge swimming pools. Building signage was elegantly inlaid into stone, etched into metals, and revealed between treated surfaces.
