Movement in the public realm

Northside of Melbourne’s CBD is ‘Movement’, a public art installation at the two-tower residential, retail and service development, Fulton Lane.  A 48-metre continual image which activates the pedestrian walkway connecting Franklin and A’Beckett Streets, Movement is a series of ribbons effortlessly floating within space.

The ribbon concept was brought to life by Photographer Scottie Cameron, translated from its original illustrated form into a macro scale of hyper-real reflection and texture. LED backlighting installed to the panels rotates through vibrant colour and tone, creating the illusion of a moving image.

Standing at three metres in height, Movement’s scale alone is impactful and dramatic to visitors of the laneway, its presence bringing life and inspiration to the space.
