NewActon Nishi

NewActon. Left of centre right by the lake. NewActon Nishi is Canberra’s most sustainable building. Designed by Fender Katsalidis Architects, it has won multiple architectural awards including ‘International Project of the Year’ at the 2015 Building Awards in London.

The brand story focuses on living in a way that matters. Clear led the creative direction for the brand, working collaboratively with the Molonglo Group, Fender Katsalidis, Oculus, Hungerford+Edmonds and the Design Office on the Sales suite and Gallery, which explores human experience through the lens of local identity, objects and their meaning; the natural and built world; design experimentation and artisanal making.

We also planned, plotted and crafted an integrated signage package for NewActon Nishi and its multiple parts. The design enhanced the architecture of the building, adding character and personality in each application. The use of sustainable materials and hand-crafted type enhances the craft of the overall spaces.

The signage package was applied to commercial tenants Department of Climate Change, Clayton Utz, retail tenants Palace Electric Cinemas and the residential apartments, car parks and public realm.
