Shaping signage for Australia’s most sustainable building

NewActon Nishi is Australia’s most sustainable building. Designed by Fender Katsalidis Architects and Tokyo-based Suppose. Nishi— has won multiple architectural awards, and is internationally recognised as an exemplar of courageous design, detail and innovation.

Clear delivered the bespoke signage system that is as sustainable and character-filled as the building itself. From the residential tower and public realm to the commercial space for the major tentant Department of Climate Change and Palace Cinema.

Working with reclaimed timbers and recycled aluminium panels to repurpose copper off-cuts for entry signage. Each application required additional consideration to understand the environmental impact and waste, to provenance and how the design could bring out the best in the inherent patina of each material.
