Elevating the essence of an architectural icon.
Australia 108 is a sculptural building unlike any other, soaring 319 metres above Melbourne. In fact, it’s the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere. Designed by Fender Katsalidis Architects, the unique architectural features of the building include a golden starburst expression and slender, curvaceous design. Aiming to ‘form a bridge between earth and sky’, the ‘cloudbreaking’ design feels almost dreamlike.
Clear worked with Fender Katsalidis and Carr Design to design the building’s signage system and wayfinding. True to the unique concept of the architecture, we created a bespoke typographic identity system, made up from a custom typeface meticulous in detail, and fabricated to suit the materiality of the building itself.
