Government House

Our publication for Government House documents the architecture and interior of the official residence of the Governor of Victoria. Divided into four sections to represent the areas of the residence (The State Apartments, The Private Apartments, The Ballroom, and The Grounds), all design decisions for this book were made to pay homage to the building design. From the reflection of imagery to the pattern on the hardcover—which was inspired by the tiling throughout the residence—to the grid structure, which was based on the external structures evident on the main house and its windows. A contemporary typeface brought personality and liveness to the design, as well as legibility.
